The McKinney Fire has consumed more than 55,000 acres, as a result of which, California's Governor Gavin Newsom has declared a state of emergency over the fire, starting on Friday. Thanks to a light rain that fell over and a slight rise in humidity overall, firefighters made progress. Still, the conditions can be extremely dangerous for firefighters, which poses a complex challenge to overcome.
